The wait is finally over -- football is back. At least, sort of.

The Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys faced off on Thursday in the annual Hall of Fame Game, marking the first time we've seen real NFL football since February.

Back in the world of baseball, we witnessed what was arguably the best catch of the year as Austin Jackson flipped over the bullpen wall at Fenway Park to rob Hanley Ramirez of a home run.

Around the world, championships for swimming, diving and even beach volleyball took place.
