Chelsea Clinton sounds off after President Trump calls the White House 'a real dump'

President Trump is rarely one to refrain from speaking his mind, and a recent remark about the White House from the commander in chief has prompted Chelsea Clinton to tweet a response.

Trump reportedly called the White House "a real dump" in speaking to members of the Trump National Golf Course in New Jersey when explaining why he prefers staying at his own properties, according to a story published on Golf.com.

The former first daughter took to Twitter on Tuesday with her response:

"Thank you to all the White House ushers, butlers, maids, chefs, florists, gardeners, plumbers, engineers & curators for all you do every day," Clinton tweeted.

Many others on Twitter also appeared to be unhappy with Trump's comment.

CNN commentator Paul Begala -- a former counselor to President Clinton -- suggested many would "chip in" to return him to Trump Tower in New York.

FanSided Founder Adam Best also tweeted a response, seemingly appealing to Trump's base:

"Many of his supporters are fighting to hold onto their homes, living check to check, and Trump calls his historic mansion of a home a dump," Best tweeted.

The White House belongs to the United States of America and it sits on property owned by The National Park Service.

Golf.com writer Alan Shipnuck notes that a White House spokesperson denies that President Trump ever referred to the White House as a "dump."
