A North Carolina animal shelter is looking for the owner of a now famous fat cat brought in as a 'stray.'

No, not Garfield.

This big boy, dubbed Mr. Handsome, has obviously had someone feeding him.

He weighs 31.4 pounds, according to a Facebook post from the Chatham County Animal Shelter.

That's about as heavy as a Cocker Spaniel!

The post of Mr. Handsome quickly went viral with over 14,000 shares and 2,200 comments.

Even with all that attention, his owner hasn't come forward.

It's a good thing Mr. Handsome is internet famous!

The shelter expects so many applications there's going to be a raffle after all the paperwork has been filled out, according to the Huffington Post.

The new owners must also agree to put him on a diet plan.

To be clear, 31lb. Mr. Handsome should be in the 18lb. ballpark, according to a shelter worker.

But being so heavy means there's just more to love.
