Report: Trump's comments have made Jeff Sessions angry but not ready to resign

President Trump has been quite critical of Attorney General Jeff Sessions in recent times, and his comments are said to have gotten under Sessions' skin.

However, according to Sessions' allies, the attacks have not pushed him towards tendering his resignation.

The Daily Beast reported on Tuesday that a person close to the attorney general said, "Sessions is totally pissedd off about it. It's beyond insane. It's cruel and it's insane and it's stupid."

An official in the White House told the publication, "[Sessions] isn't going anywhere...We've all lived through enough of these episodes where people end up getting on the president's bad side, but guess what? They're still around."

Last week, President Trump surprised many when he said in a New York Times interview, "Sessions should have never recused himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job and I would have picked somebody else."

Trump called the move "very unfair to the president," and suggested that Sessions removing himself from matters involving Russia paved the way for special prosecutor Robert Mueller's appointment.

The president has since made additional unfavorable comments about Sessions.

On Monday he tweeted, "So why aren't the Committees and investigators, and of course our beleaguered A.G., looking into Crooked Hillarys crimes & Russia relations?"

The following morning, Trump said via Twitter, "Attorney General Jeff Sessions has taken a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes (where are E-mails & DNC server) & Intel leakers!"
