Shocking discovery unearthed near Stonehenge

An ancient burial chamber has been unearthed near Stonehenge.

The rare monument was unexpectedly found after analyzing an aerial photo taken of the site now being excavated by the Archeology Field School at the University of Reading.

Known as a long barrow, the ancient grave dates back over approximately 5,600 years.

If the site is like other known long barrows, it may have held up to 50 skeletons.

The site rests on the Salisbury plain where other mysterious sites such as Stonehenge and the fire monument stand.

Excavations on the site have only just begun, so the secrets of this ancient cemetery remain to be seen.

Although the site pre-dates Stonehenge, it's possible that remains found at the long barrow, if found, may belong to distant relatives who built it.
