Female Kurdish sniper laughs at ISIS fighter after a bullet misses her head by inches

A video showing the moment a Kurdish sniper laughs and sticks out her tongue after an ISIS bullet misses her head by inches is going viral.

The woman, a sharpshooter from the Women's Protection Unit, is seen taking aim during a shootout in the northeast region of Syria in Raqqa City.

Just after the woman takes a shot, a bullet flies dangerously close to her head and ricochets off of the side of the wall, causing a chunk of the wall to explode and consume the room in dust.

Appearing to be far from frightened, the woman immediately ducked down and laughed to her colleagues, continuing conversation with them as if nothing happened.

Hemze Hamza, a local reporter, tweeted a video of the encounter, writing, "Kurdish women know no fear. Your average human being would be scared for life after being so close to death but she kept laughing."

The Women's Protection Unit, colloquially dubbed YPJ, is the all-female brigade of the YPG, the armed forces of the Syrian region of Kurdistan.

The armed female unit is estimated to have 7,000 volunteer fighters, ranging from ages 18 to 40.
