Trump claims Obama 'colluded or obstructed' on Russia's 2016 election involvement

President Trump slammed his Oval Office predecessor via Twitter on Monday morning, claiming Obama 'did nothing' in addressing Russia's 2016 election involvement.

"The reason that President Obama did NOTHING about Russia after being notified by the CIA of meddling is that he expected Clinton would win," Trump stated in a tweet. "And did not want to 'rock the boat.' He didn't 'choke,' he colluded or obstructed, and it did the Dems and Crooked Hillary no good."

Trump's Monday statements come after the president unleashed a tweetstorm over the weekend during which he also slammed Obama for inaction.

Trump continued his Twitter remarks in saying he should be given an "apology" for the allegations that the Trump campaign potentially colluded with Russia in some capacity during the 2016 election.

"The real story is that President Obama did NOTHING after being informed in August about Russian meddling," the president said. "With 4 months looking at Russia under a magnifying glass, they have zero 'tapes' of T people colluding. There is no collusion & no obstruction. I should be given apology!"

This uptick in Obama-focused rhetoric likely stems in part from a recent Washington Post piece that detailed the inner workings of the Obama administration's strategy in detailing with reports of Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election.
