Man allegedly opens fire after his date doesn't go as planned

A Louisiana man was arrested Monday after police said he opened fire on his date when things didn't go as he expected.

Chauncy Wilkerson, 19, thought he met a woman on the dating app "TAGGED." When his suitor arrived and Wilkerson realized that the person he thought was a woman was actually a man, things took a dark turn.

According to WBRZ, police initially responded to a hit-and-run when they arrived. They found that Wilkerson and his mother had been hit by a car.

He told police that the man he met on the internet, who has not been named, came to his home even though he told him not to. When he arrived in the driveway, Wilkerson and his mother went outside where they were hit by the car.

Wilkerson fired four shots at the vehicle as it sped away. Officers found 9 mm shell casings and charged Wilkerson with illegal use of a weapon and aggravated assault with a firearm.
