Biden encourages Romney to launch Senate bid: report

Former Vice President Joe Biden is reportedly encouraging Mitt Romney to run for Senate in 2018.

The announcement came during a private event in Park City, Utah according to sources. "By the way, you should run for Senate," one attendee quoted Biden as saying.

Romney, 70, was the former governor of Massachusetts and ran against Biden and Former President Barack Obama during the 2012 presidential race.

Speculation has been swirling around whether or not Romney may seek the seat of longtime Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch if he were to forego reelection.

Romney and Biden both considered running for president in 2016. Biden also said at the eve, according to POLITICO, that he knew Hillary Clinton would lose key battleground states in October, based on his past campaigning in those states.
