Former FBI agent: I wanted to 'rinse myself off'’ after reading about Comey’s meetings with Trump

Even before former FBI Director James Comey testified before Senate lawmakers Thursday, a former veteran of the Federal Bureau of Investigation had expressed his "disgust" over the reported interactions between Comey and President Trump.

During an appearance on CNN Wednesday, James Gagliano referred to Comey's opening statement released earlier that day and said, "I read this and I literally wanted to rinse myself off afterwards. I felt completely disgusted."

While on CNN Gagliano also added, "Beginning with that first awkward handshake that we saw on camera when Director Comey and the president met and... it started out as a handshake, turned into kind of a half hug. You could tell -- it was palpable -- how uncomfortable Director Comey was."

The nearly 25-year veteran of the FBI went on to echo this sentiment later after he was asked to clarify his earlier comment about wanting to rinse off.

He brought up how awkward Comey must have been feeling during his private dinner with the president on January 27th when Trump allegedly asked him to pledge his loyalty multiple times.

Gagliano said, "We now have a president that was attempting to put an FBI director on his heels."

The president, however, has rejected various claims Comey made in his testimony.

He tweeted Friday morning, "Despite so many false statements and lies, total and complete vindication...and WOW, Comey is a leaker!"

Later, at a press briefing, Trump had a similar response, "... no collusion, no obstruction. He's a leaker."
