Prince William makes a surprise visit to Manchester in wake of terror attack

Prince William called Manchester an example to the world.

On Friday, the Prince visited the city to meet with those affected by last week's terrorist attack during an Ariana Grande concert that left 22 dead.

Kensington Palace confirms the prince chatted with first responders and those who were some of the first on the scene.

That included a visit with Greater Manchester police officers, northern rail workers and local taxi drivers.

The Prince took a moment to sign the Book of Condolence at Manchester Cathedral writing,

"Manchester's strength and togetherness is an example to the world. My thoughts are with all those affected."

He signed his note, Will.

The Duke of Cambridge's last stop was to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital to meet with families of the victims.

On Sunday, Ariana will be joined by Miley Cyrus, Coldplay, Justin Bieber, One Direction and more in a benefit concert that will take place miles from where the attack happened.
