Men arrested after forcing alligator to chug beer on Snapchat
Two South Carolina men were arrested after forcing a baby alligator to chug a beer then posting a video of it on Snapchat.
Joseph Andrew Floyd, Jr., 20, and Zachary Lloyd Brown, 21, will face charges for the incident, The Post and Courier reports.
The men told officials that they found the gator on the side of the road, and after pouring beer down its throat, they released it back into the wild.
Both are charged with harassing wildlife, a misdemeanor with a maximum fine of $300. Both will be expected to pay that amount.
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources condemned the incident on Facebook.
"Wildlife conservation is a big part of what SCDNR officers do each day," SCDNR 1st Sgt. Earl Pope said in a press release. "This case is a good example of why we strive to educate people about wildlife in hopes that they will respect it."
