Michael Flynn says 'public frenzy' is the reason he's refusing to testify

Michael Flynn has invoked his Fifth amendment right and refuses to testify in the Russian investigation. President Trump's former national security adviser says escalating "public frenzy" is the reason.

The AP got their hands on a letter that was sent to the Senate Intelligence Committee. It's from Flynn's lawyers and they point to the public frenzy around the investigation as well as the DOJ's appointment of a special prosecutor.

The letter also says any testimony that he gives could be used against him.

Flynn was subpoenaed by the committee to turn over records. He originally offered to testify in front of the committee in exchange for immunity. Both chambers refused to accept his offer.

Flynn was fired from his White House post in February for misleading VP Mike Pence about conversations he had with Russian officials.
