US Coast Guard searching for missing plane near Bahamas

The U.S. Coast Guard announced Tuesday that they were searching for a small airplane that went missing off the coast of Eleuthera, Bahamas.

The Florida-bound plane that was carrying a New York family departed from Borinquen, Puerto Rico, at about 11 a.m. on Monday.

The Coast Guard released a statement on Tuesday, reporting that Miami Air Traffic Control reported losing radar and radio contact with the MU-2B airplane on Monday at 2:10 p.m. The plane then failed to reach its destination in Titusville, Florida.

According to WPIX, the passengers on board were identified as Jennifer Blumin and Nathan Ulrich of New York, as well as Blumin's 4-year-old and 10-year-old sons.
