First-round NFL draft pick Patrick Mahomes robbed at gunpoint

May 15 (The Sports Xchange) - Rookie Patrick Mahomes II, the Kansas City Chiefs' top pick in last month's NFL Draft, was uninjured after being robbed in Texas.

Mahomes, the former Texas Tech quarterback selected 10th overall, was in his hometown of Tyler, Texas, when he was robbed on Friday night, according to the Smith County Sheriff's office.

Mahomes and three others told deputies they had been robbed by a man pretending to have a gun.

"The suspect demanded property from the four victims and after the robbery was complete he got in his vehicle and left the location. No one was injured," Sgt. Darrell Coslin told ESPN.
