President Trump again suggests cancelling White House press briefings unless he does them

President Donald Trump suggests in a new interview that he may do away with White House press briefings -- unless he handles them himself every two weeks.

Trump tweeted a similar sentiment on Friday morning, saying "Maybe the best thing to do would be to cancel all future "press briefings" and hand out written responses for the sake of accuracy???"

Following his tweet, FOX News released a clip of Jeanine Pirro's interview with the president, during which he doubles down on canceling "all future" press briefings.

Trump's suggestion of canceling press briefings stems from his administration's miscommunication after the firing of FBI Director James Comey. White House deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters that the president followed advice from the assistant attorney general when fired Comey, however, Trump told NBC News' Lester Holt that it was his idea -- he planned to fire Comey regardless of the recommendation.
