Trader Joe's recalls Mikawaya Chocolate Chocolate Mochi Ice cream

Major chain Trader Joe's has announced a recall of their Mikawaya Chocolate Chocolate mochi ice cream.

In an announcement shared on Tuesday, the store said their supplier alerted them that boxes with the code "LOT 090-17" may contain peanuts.

Peanuts are not listed in the ingredients, so those allergic may be at risk. Thankfully, the announcement also says that the affected boxes have been removed and destroyed.

Those who purchased the contaminated boxes are urged to throw them away or return it to their store for a refund.

No reactions have been reported as of Thursday morning.
