First lady Melania Trump is set to join President Donald Trump on his first foreign trip later this month.

A spokeswoman for the first lady confirmed to the Washington Examiner on Tuesday that Melania Trump would be joining her husband abroad.

"Of course she will be joining her husband for the entire trip, and yes, she will be making several public appearances," spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said.

The president and first lady will make multiple stops. The White House announced last week that the president would visit Saudi Arabia, Israel and the Vatican before attending the G-7 summit in Brussels at the end of May.

The meeting in Saudi Arabia will focus on security with leaders from multiple Middle Eastern countries attending, including Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

"We will begin to construct a new foundation of cooperation and support with our Muslim allies to combat extremism, and terrorism and violence and to embrace a more just and hopeful future for Muslims in their countries," Trump said after the announcement of his trip to Saudi Arabia.
