Melania Trump finally speaks out about liking an anti-Trump tweet
Melania Trump has finally released a statement regarding an incident in which her verified personal Twitter account "liked" a tweet that mocked her marriage to Donald Trump.
On Tuesday, news broke that the first lady's account had "favorited" Andy Ostroy's tweet that featured a GIF of Melania Trump smiling then dramatically scowling after her husband glanced in her direction.
"Seems the only #Wall@realDonaldTrump's built is the one between him and @FLOTUS #Melania #trump," Ostroy wrote.
Melania Trump's spokesperson Stephanie Grisham told PEOPLE that the first lady "wasn't aware" of the situation until she brought it to her attention.
"It isn't her primary account and we have since changed the passwords," Grisham added.
Since the president was sworn in, the first lady and her staff have been using the @FLOTUS Twitter account rather than her personal @MELANIATRUMP account.
Melania Trump's personal account has only liked one other tweet -- one from 2012 in which she said, "Hello Twitter."
Though it seems that the account was simply hacked, that didn't stop Twitter users from having a heyday.
