8-year-old writes inspiring note on cop's receipt after paying for meal

A Florida boy made an officer's day after not only paying for his breakfast but writing a sweet note on the receipt.

The Lakeland Police Department shared the story on their Facebook page:

An 8-year-old named Noah asked to pay for Officer Benitez's meal while at Denny's. He had his own money that he received for his birthday His only request was to write a note on the receipt for the officer.

The note read, "I want to be you when I grow up. Thank you for your service."

Benitez was so moved that he took a photo with Noah.

"Well Noah you touched all of our hearts today," the Lakeland Police Department wrote on Facebook. "Your support means so much to all of the men and women who put on the uniform every day. We wish you the happiest of birthdays!"

Noah turns nine this weekend.
