Hiker missing for 47 days in the Himalayas found alive

A Taiwanese hiker who was missing for 47 days has finally been found.

Liang Sheng-yueh, 21 years old, and his 18-year-old girlfriend, Liu Chen-chun, started hiking Nepal's Himalayan mountains on March 9.

A snowstorm made them lose their bearings and they were forced to take shelter in a small cave.

According to CNN, the couple survived for days by eating salt and melted snow once their food ran out. Tragically, three days before being rescued, Chen-chun died.

Sheng-yueh and his girlfriend's body were airlifted to the Grande International hospital in Kathmandu.
