Trump won't fire Sean Spicer because 'the guy gets great ratings'

Daily briefings with White House press secretary Sean Spicer may at times resemble a soap opera, but he continues to dominate daytime ratings, attracting more viewers than some tv dramas. That's why President Trump reportedly says he still has a job.

According to the Washington Post, Spicer's future was discussed at a White House lunch last month. The president said, "I'm not firing Sean Spicer. That guy gets great ratings. Everyone tunes in."

The ratings, 4 million viewers per day, according to multiple reports.

Trump has been "all about ratings" since his first major TV gig as host of "The Apprentice." His aides said he watches cable news constantly, although in an Associated Press interview he says he doesn't watch CNN and MSNBC anymore.

Spicer's job has recently come into question after he called concentration camps "Holocaust Centers."

Saturday Night Live is also getting big ratings for Melissa McCarthy's impression of him which many say is spot-on.
