On Tuesday, Gallup released a poll regarding House Speaker Paul Ryan's favorability rating, and the results are not good. The survey was conducted from April 5 to April 9 among 1,019 U.S. adults.

Since November and in the wake of the failed attempt to repeal and replace Obamacare, Ryan's rating fell 9 points, landing at 39 percent.

The number of those viewing him in an unfavorable light increased 12 points.

Democrats played a large role in the steep decline, with only 14% of party respondents expressing a positive view of the speaker. In the previous poll, 39 percent of that group held a higher opinion.

Fewer Independents gave Ryan good marks as well, resulting in a drop from 44% favorability to 39 percent. Republicans stayed steady at 66 percent.

Notably, Ryan is not the only house leader to turn out low numbers.

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi ended up with a favorable rating of 34 percent and received 48 percent in the unfavorable category.
