Shocking video shows alarming swarm of jellyfish near man

A teenager couldn't believe his eyes when he came across a massive swarm of jellyfish off the Western Australia coast.

Riley Watts, 18, was with his friend when the disturbing interaction was caught on video.

"We were just heading out for a surf, got about halfway out and there were frickin' jellyfish everywhere, so we turned around and went home," Watts told ABC North West.

They got in a boat to take a closer look at the swarm, and of course, it's even freakier up close.

According to Mashable, mass jellyfish swarms like this are the result of summer-long northerly winds. Or, jellyfish are simply taking over.
