Son dies in shootout after argument with father over who would walk the dog

A father-son disagreement over whose turn it was reportedly turned into a shootout on Sunday morning, Chicago police report.

According to WMAQ, authorities responded to the scene around 8:00 a.m.

Both men suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were rushed to a hospital, WGN reports.

The 43-year-old father was in critical condition, and the 22-year-old son did not survive.

Police recovered the weapons used and are still investigating the alleged incident, the BBC reports.

The identities of the father and son have not yet been released.
