The meme and several versions of it began surfacing on the web a few years ago after Russia reportedly cracked down on free speech, particularly relating to the LGBTQ community.
There are apparently thousands of other banned images the country calls "extremist propaganda."
The meme of course is not banned in the U.S., so it continues to be viral here.
