WATCH: President Trump holds joint press conference with Jordan's King Abdullah

UPDATE: This event has ended

President Trump will host Jordan's King Abdullah II on Wednesday as questions swirl over how the world leaders will address Syria's deadly chemical attack.

The Trump administration responded to Tuesday's chemical attack in rebel-held Syria, saying the incident was "reprehensible."

"These heinous actions by the Bashar al-Assad regime are a consequence of the last administration's weakness and irresolution," White House spokesman Sean Spicer said on Tuesday. "President Obama said in 2012 that he would establish a 'red line' against the use of chemical weapons and then did nothing."

This will be King Abdullah's first visit to the White House under Trump's presidency.
