Police find wet, nearly naked woman with webbed feet claiming to be a mermaid

The Fresno Police Department took to Facebook on April 4 to ask the public's help in identifying a nearly naked woman found wandering by herself in Fresno, California, according to KTXL.

The mystery woman, who was spotted by authorities near the Eagle Spring Golf & Country Club around 3 A.M. on Tuesday morning, claims that her name is Joanna and that she is a mermaid.

At the time she was taken in, 'Joanna' had wet hair and told officers she had recently been in the water.

She repsonded "I don't know" to most of their other questions.

The 5-foot-4 woman, who has two webbed toes on both of her feet, weighs about 150 pounds and has brown eyes and brown hair.

Police speculate she is between 16 and 30 years old and is either White or Hispanic.
