Live chihuahua found in trash compactor in New York City

A female Chihuahua was found in a trash compactor in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

CBS News reports that a New York City Housing Authority spotted the pup on March 30 after being thrown down a trash chute. Despite the trauma, the Chihuahua is in good health.

The dog is in the care of the ASPCA. The NYPD will reward $2,500 for details leading to an arrest for animal cruelty.
