Former FBI Director James Comey is extremely tall

Updated

You may know James Comey from the Hillary Clinton email scandal, the secret Twitter account scandal or his own firing scandal -- but did you know he's extremely tall?

He was, according to CNN, probably the tallest FBI director in history. And yes, he does love playing basketball.

In case you were wondering, at 6'8", he towers over Jason Chaffetz, a 6'2" congressman who plans to leave office by the end of June. Chaffetz was a college football player, for the record.

Other than boasting impressive height, Comey has quite the arsenal of fun facts that he could potentially dish out.

Did you know he prosecuted Martha Stewart? He served as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York from 2002 to 2003, when he brought charges against the lifestyle icon for lying about insider trading.

Also, according to an account in the Bergen Record, Comey was locked up and held at gunpoint by a high-profile serial criminal as a teen with his brother. They escaped the "Ramsey Rapist" by climbing through a window, but they ran into him outside and were forced to return before being rescued.

Finally, as you may expect, Comey's son is also a basketball player. Brien Comey played basketball at Kenyon University until last season, when he graduated. He is 6'8", just like his dad.
