Woman's obsession with Ed Sheeran song lands her in jail

Updated

A 36-year-old British woman became so obsessed with Ed Sheeran's new song, "Shape of You," that it landed her in jail.

Well ... indirectly speaking.

The volume she played the song at was really what got her in legal trouble.

Sonia Brice, of Willenhall, England, had apparently been warned about her relentless noisemaking before.

She was sentenced to 6 weeks in prison back in December for noise complaints, after which her landlords secured a court order that banned her from "creating a nuisance or annoyance," according to ITV.

But that reportedly didn't stop the mother of three from blasting the hit song on loop for three hours, prompting her neighbors to complain, which landed her back in court.

The Sheeran aficionado was sentenced to 8 weeks in jail for noise harassment over the incident.

Even harsher, the judge reportedly told Brice during her sentencing, "You must learn that you should behave as a reasonable and responsible adult and not make life for your neighbors the misery that you have."

Next time, might we just suggest headphones?
