Rogue black hole is flying through space at speed of nearly 5 million miles per hour

As if black holes weren't scary enough, there is now a rogue one whizzing through space -- and it's moving extremely fast.

Using the Hubble Telescope, NASA discovered the supermassive black hole while it was leaving the galaxy 3c 186.

What was actually being observed was a quasar, which is a super bright light emitted by hot gas that surrounds a supermassive black hole.

Scientists believe that two black holes may have merged together, which would have created gravitational waves.

And once the two black holes finally collided, they were ejected by the strongest waves, which sent the supermassive black hole flying through space at over 1,300 miles per second, or 4,680,000 million miles per hour.

For those in need of a little help with the math -- at that speed, the black hole could travel from earth to the moon in three minutes.
