UCONN expected to continue historic streak in women's NCAA tournament

With the final four teams in this year's Women's NCAA basketball tournament set, the University of Connecticut, or UConn, is still the clear favorite to take home the championship.

According to Alec Nathan's projections on Bleacher Report, he has placed the odds of the team winning the tournament at 1-10 with South Carolina following at 15-1, Stanford at 25-1, and Mississippi State at a distant 35-1.

Inside the UConn women's winning streak

The Lady Huskies, who have been crowned the champions in the past four straight NCAA tournaments, are on a historic 111-game winning streak. The team's win over Oregon in the Elite Eight gave head coach Geno Auriemma his 113th career victory in NCAA tournament -- the most of any Division I coach. He passed former Tennessee women's basketball coach Pat Summitt, who won 112 NCAA tournament games during her tenure.

UCONN is scheduled to face first-time Final Four team Mississippi State on Friday, with the winner playing in the final on Sunday. Should they win this year's tournament, UCONN would continue to make history, breaking their previous record of four straight national championships.
