Girls' soccer yields most concussions in high school sports

Which sport yields the most concussions in high school? The answer might surprise you.
Female soccer players have much higher concussion rates than boys, according to a new study by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and rank first overall in all high school sports.
People blame the high concussion risk in soccer on headers.
The study's author thinks he knows why, saying, "the neck muscles of girls just aren't as developed as boys are."
Sports injuries were tracked for 10 years and, sure enough, girls had much higher concussion rates than boys playing the same sports.
Football was fourth on the list, behind girls' soccer, volleyball and basketball.
Experts think the numbers could be skewed. Their argument? Perhaps high school boys aren't reporting concussions as much.
