Melania Trump has chosen a communications director

First lady Melania Trump has hired a communications director.

A White House press release issued on Monday says that she has chosen "Stephanie Grisham to serve as Special Assistant to the President and Director of Communications to the First Lady."

It adds that "in this role, Stephanie will lead all communications efforts on behalf of the Office of the First Lady."

Melania has said in response, "Stephanie is a wonderful addition to the team. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the job, and will be an incredible asset to my office..."

Meanwhile, Grisham accepted the opportunity by saying, in part, "Mrs. Trump's life story is an inspiration to millions of mothers and female entrepreneurs, and to me personally ...I look forward to helping her communicate her unifying message of kindness and empowerment."

Grisham will be transitioning over from her role as President Trump's Deputy Press Secretary.

Observers have noted that compared to her predecessor Michelle Obama, Melania has been relatively slow in hiring staff for her office.

However, this appointment may be another indication that she is, indeed, preparing to move to the White House with 11-year-old son Barron after his school year ends.
