Rex Tillerson says he 'didn't want' Secretary of State job

By Matt Hoffman, Buzz60

Rex Tillerson may be serving as Secretary of State, but he now says he didn't want the job.

That's according to the Independent Journal Review, which says Tillerson says he never met President Trump prior to November's election.

The Secretary of State offer was unexpected. Tillerson says he only accepted it because his wife told him to. He had planned to retire and spend time with his grandchildren.

This was reported by IJR's Erin McPike, the only journalist allowed to accompany Tillerson on his recent trip to Asia.

He has said he's "not a big media press access person."

He's also caused controversy by announcing that he won't be attending a NATO meeting in April but will be traveling to Russia shortly thereafter.

President Trump will be attending the NATO leaders meeting in May.
