Purdue has appeared in the tournament 28 times, and the Boilermakers have advanced to two Final Fours. They have a tournament record of 35-28, and have never won a national championship.

Iowa State has appeared in the tournament 18 times, and the Cyclones have advanced to one Final Four. They have a tournament record of 18-18, and have never won a national championship.

Prediction: Led by the superb play of Monte Morris, I think the Cyclones get the win and advance to the Round of 32. Caleb Swanigan will get his double-double and disrupt Iowa State's offense—especially at the rim, but the versatile play of Morris will be too much for the Boilermakers in the end. Iowa State wins by five.
