After Megan Starich's husband fell 15 feet at work, she was desperate for money to pay the medical bills. So desperate in fact that she was willing to sell her wedding ring.

Using the app 'LetGo' Megan tried to sell the beloved item for $5 thousand dollars, but the buyer ripped it from her hand and ran off without paying.

Starich was forced to attempt selling the ring due to mounting hospital bills. Her husband suffered 21 skull fractures from the fall and the couple has a special needs child at home.

In regards to the ring being stolen, Starich wrote on her GoFundMe page: "This was my plan B. I don't know what to do now."

Local police confirmed the story and reported she wasn't the only person to be victimized. The description Megan gave of the thief matched the description of the man in other related crimes.

The GoFundMe page has raised over $12 thousand dollars for the family.
