St. Patrick's Day 'Drunk Lives Matter' shirt stirs massive controversy

St. Patrick's Day is commonly associated with two things: Ireland and alcohol. Okay, three things: Ireland, alcohol and the color green. This results in a lot of green attire with phrases on it like, "Kiss Me I'm Irish" or "Kiss Me I'm Drunk." One online retailer, though, seriously missed the mark.

The shirt, sold on Quick Print Tees, says "Drunk Lives Matter" -- in the style of "Black Lives Matter."

The shirt is also sold through PubCrawls.com for St. Patrick's day bar crawl events. Another version is available on Amazon, where reviewers have expressed their distaste. "You are selling shirts that make fun of a slogan that has come out of the brutal killings of an entire race of people," one reviewer said. Another said, "This is a racist and disgusting theft of Black Lives Matter."

Those on social media took to condemning the shirt as well:

As of Wednesday, the shirts were still available on all sites.
