Updated

As March Madness sweeps the nation and many are wondering which player will have their breakout year -- eyes will also be on the legendary coaches who compete for the national title from the sidelines every year.

Duke's Mike Krzyzewski, North Carolina's Roy Williams, and Michigan State's Tom Izzo are just a few of the big names that will dominate headlines as their teams head into the first round of the NCAA tournament.

NCAA men's basketball coaches with most championship wins

Coach K has racked up the most tournament wins of any coach in history, topping the all-time list with 90. He's 20 wins ahead of UNC's Williams, who comes in at No. 2 on the all time tournament win list with 70.

Krzyzewski is also leading the way with 12 Final Four appearances -- tied with legendary UCLA head coach John Wooden. Wooden, however, tops the list of championship wins by two-fold. Wooden racked up 10 championship titles during his 27-year tenure. Krzyzewski is next on the championship wins list with 5.

On the ladies side of the court, UConn's Geno Auriemma and Tennessee's Pat Summitt have set the bar high. Auriemma lead the Huskies to their 11th national championship in 2016, becoming the first coach to surpass John Wooden's 10 titles. The late Summitt served as the Lady Volunteers' head coach for 38 years, winning eight championship titles.
