No. 3 Oregon vs. No. 14 Iona preview: Game time, broadcast, betting line, prediction

The Oregon Ducks (29-5) are the No. 3 seed in the Midwest Region, and will take on the No. 14 seed Iona Gaels (22-12). The game will be played at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

Preview: Oregon finished tied for first in the Pac-12 with Arizona, and recorded wins over Arizona, USC and UCLA in the process. The Ducks are led by forward Dillon Brooks, who averages 16.3 points per game.

Iona finished third in the MAAC and then proceeded to win the MAAC Tournament with a 87-86 victory over Siena. The Gaels are led by Jordan Washington, who averages 17.9 points per game.

Opening Betting Line: Oregon -16, via OddsShark

Oregon has made 14 NCAA Tournament appearances, but the Ducks have only reached the Final Four once. Since the 2012-2013 season the Ducks have qualified for the tournament each year, but they've yet to make it beyond the Elite Eight.

Iona has made 11 NCAA Tournament appearances, but has never made it out of the opening weekend. In fact, the Gaels are actually 1-11 in the tournament, the lone win occurring in 1980 against Holy Cross.

Prediction: Oregon rolls in this one. The Ducks are a juggernaut, and the Iona Gaels will offer little in the way of resistance. I predict a solid 20 point victory and a 20 point effort from Brooks.
