Woman performs bizarre interpretive dance at city council meeting

A Portland, Maine, city council meeting evolved into a scene straight out of 'Parks and Recreation' when a female citizen took the floor and broke out into an "interpretive dance" of sorts.

The strange performance culminates with the lead (and only) dancer crawling onto the lap of one extremely uncomfortable meeting attendee.

The woman seen plié-ing and chassé-ing across the chamber floor is apparently a local artist named Sara Juli, who was merely partaking in the town's monthly "artist in the chamber" program.

Juli, who runs a choreography lab for local artists, reassured KSTU that her city council number was merely a segment of a much longer interpretive dance.

Lucky us.
