13-foot gator pulled from swimming area at Florida spring
According to a sheriff's deputy, a 13-foot alligator took a swim in a Florida park on Saturday.
Though the creatures are not usually cause for alarm at that size, it's chosen swimming location is one that tourists often frequent -- the Silver Glen Recreation Area in the Ocala National Forest. It had to be removed.
The Marion County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post that they called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission to gather trappers and pull the gator ashore.
"Crikey!! Look at the size of that gator," the post said.
