Sports fans are in a rough patch right now with no football and only spring training baseball -- but have no fear, winter sports are here!

Ski jumping, skating and luging were in the spotlight this week as competitions were held around the world. The next Winter Olympics are scheduled for 2018, so these smaller events are sure to tide us over until then.

In the warmer parts of the globe, fans watched tennis, horse racing and plenty of soccer. Back in the states, basketball and NASCAR took center stage.
