NASA scientists discuss plan to make Pluto a planet again

After being stripped of its planetary title ten years ago, Pluto may finally reclaim its former glory.

Scientists from NASA's New Horizon's mission to Pluto have asked the International Astronomical Union to change their definition of what a planet is.

The new definition would make anything round that is smaller than a star a planet.

This distinction would make Pluto a planet again, but would also make objects like moons and other dwarf planets planets as well.

The proposed definition would add 110 new planets to our solar system.

The New Horizon's team believes that the public views research on anything not labeled a planet as not interesting or doesn't warrant scientific research.

But while they wait for a response from the IAU, the team continues their trek through deep space and into the Kuiper Belt.
