VIDEO: Slimy octopus clings itself to a swimmer's face - and it won't let go

What started out as a day of snorkeling turned into an unforgettable and dangerous moment for a man recovering from a underwater attack in Greece.

While snorkeling in the ocean, a man was almost suffocated by an octopus after the animal clung to its face and wouldn't let go.

In the clip below, the man spotted the animal while filming his underwater expedition.

The man stumbled upon the octopus on resting on the sand below water.

As the tentacled-animal slowly made its way across the ocean floor, the man lost sight of the octopus, only to encounter a few seconds later - this time it was ready for a much tighter close-up.

The alien-like create suctioned onto the snorkeler's face, clinging onto his skin as he tried to swim away.
