A small town in Italy is erecting a Donald Trump statue

The mayor of a small town outside Tuscany, Italy, is hoping to attract American tourists by erecting an 8-foot marble statue of President Trump.

The Trump statue will stand in Vagli di Sotto's Park of Honor and Dishonor, a local attraction for the town of 1,000 people. NBC News reports Vagli di Sotto's mayor Mario Puglio said both Italian and Americans have offered funds of $250,000 to pay for the statue.

Trump's statue is joined by an interesting mix of history makers, Including a French police dog who was killed after the 2015 Paris attacks and Francesco Schettino, the Costa Concordia cruise ship captain who abandoned his sinking ship.

Puglio told local newspaper Il Fatto Quotidiano "it's for history to decide whether Trump merits honor or dishonor."
