WATCH LIVE: Appeals court hears oral arguments on Trump's travel ban

President Donald Trump's travel ban faces another major legal hurdle Tuesday afternoon as lawyers present oral arguments to the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco.

The arguments will take place over the phone so the livestream will be just audio.

Trump's executive order barring immigrants and refugees from select Middle Eastern countries from entering the U.S. has been temporarily blocked by a judge since a ruling issued on Friday.

Trump has argued that the ban is a key part of his national security plan, and said at an event with sheriffs at the White House, "I actually can't believe that we're having to fight to protect the security, in a court system, to protect the security of our nation."

The executive order, issued on January 27, barred entry for citizens from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen for 90 days and imposed a 120-day halt on all refugees.

But a federal judge in Seattle, responding to a challenge by Washington state, suspended the order last Friday.
