Updated

Last week the Ramat Gan Safari Park in Tel Aviv welcomed a new family member, Rami the rhinoceros. After a year and a half long pregnancy Rami's mother, Rihanna a white rhinoceros, finally gave birth. Rami was named after the man who has supervised the park for the past 30 years, Rami Tam.

With the addition of the newborn their are now a total of 14 rhinoceros at the Safari making it the largest herd in the region. While White rhinoceros are the only rhino's not on the endangered species list they are still monitored closely since they are at risk for poaching. The World Wild Life organization estimates their are only about 20,000 white rhino's left on the planet.
