US Holocaust Museum's sign about fascism goes viral

A sign at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum has gone viral for its bold warning against fascism.

A Twitter user shared a photo of a poster from inside the Washington, D.C. museum that displayed a list identifying features of a potentially fascist regime:

Less than a full day after the original message was posted, it has been shared more than 145,000 times.

Several Twitter users noted that the points highlighted in the sign seem a bit familiar to the present-day United States.

Others drew comparisons between these attributes and former U.S. leaders and the rulers of foreign countries.

The list, which was created by Laurence W. Britt in 2003 is available for sale on several websites, so it's not exclusive to the Holocaust Memorial Museum.
